With P2 technology, the VariCam 3700 now records variable frame rates natively; each frame is stored without any pulldown or duplication. This allows for immediate playback of slow and fast motion footage and eliminates the step of frame rate conversion in post.
VariCam's legendary Film-REC mode continues in the next-gen models, along with several additional gamma settings for even greater flexibility.
The VariCam line now benefits from Panasonic's P2 format, which records to an ultra-reliable, resilient and reusable solid-state media card. With virtually no moving parts, the VariCam is highly resistant to shock and vibration, and performance in extreme environments is dramatically improved.
