It took a 10-year journey of rigorous R&D to achieve the features that won the LenCin Pedestal its Emmy Award — wider range of vertical camera movement, greater rigidity and precision in movements, greater dependability in the level of performance, reduced noise levels and maintenance requirements, and improved ergonomics. According to company CEO/president and chief engineer Chapman, many of the features found in the LenCin Pedestal were suggested by camera operators in the field. Among the improvements that operators wanted was the ability to get lower with the camera, a quieter operation, greater stability and rigidity, and the durability to withstand the abuses of use over a long time. Other requests included accessibility to the wheels for quickly removal of stuck tape and amenities like cup holders and the ability to sit on seats without jarring the camera. “It was a long and tough assignment to get it to the level of perfection that the users were demanding,” Chapman admits. “But we got there now, and the LenCin Pedestal has really been embraced.”
